Each year our talented Philly Punx artists create a Punx Picnic design based off of classic punk albums and singles cover art.  And each year the PPP organizers struggle to chose the best ones (last year we chose three so we wouldn't have to chose).  Not this time, this year we decided to let you chose the design for 2013 by voting with your wallet.  The design that raises the most cash will be used for poster, fliers, t-shirts and other promotional material.  The artist of that design will take home that cash prize while all the other votes will be added to the Philly Punx Picnic Expense Fund.

Any Philly Punx artist can submit a design by emailing a 300dpi JPG to: phillypunxpicnic@gmail.com
requirements:

• design must be a rip-off or spoof of a well-known punk album or 7" cover 
• do not repeat bands used in recent years
• DEADLINE April 14, 2013

Every year dozens of bands contact us about booking them on the picnic.  In an attempt to better organize these requests and offer everyone a fair opportunity we have created this short questionnaire.  Please take a minute to fill this out and we will contact you.

Philly Punx Picnic 2013 dates announced!!

This year Baltimore decided to kick-off the picnic season before us, but we say, "let them!" because they won't be able to top us anyway!

Tuesday July 16th - Sunday July 21st

• Tuesday July 16th - We're kicking off the picnic even earlier this year with a Philly Punx Birthday Bash.  More details will be unveiled as we lock in our plans.
• Wednesday July 17th - Join us at Kingsessing Park in West Philly for the Traditional West Philly Waste Softball Pep Rally. 
• Thursday July 18th - Our all locals DIY house show may possibly be split into two shows to help accommodate all the eager bands willing to support this year's picnic. We often have difficulties securing a location for this event so please contact us right away if you or anyone you know may be able to help.
• Friday July 19th - Kick-off the weekend of punk rock shenanigans at Millcreek Tavern, West Philly.  This show will begin at 8pm and will be open to all ages.  Band line-ups will be announced soon.
• Saturday July 20th - As is tradition, the Punx take over FDR Skatepark for BBQ, beer and punk rock from 2pm-8pm.  We'll then wrap up the evening with another killer show at Millcreek Tavern, doors at 8pm and line-up TBA.
• Sunday July 21st - Sleep in late, grab brunch at Terry's, visit Sit & Spin or join the Alley Cat Race.  Whatever you choose to do Sunday afternoon is up to you.  The punx will find a park to crash for BBQ potluck from 2-6pm, then head back down to Millcreek Tavern at 6pm for an early show (in the AC!) ending around 10pm, then a wrap party (location TBA).
